The Ultimate In Hydrostatic Wheel Trenchers
From Wolfe, a worldwide leader in designing and manufacturing self-contained drainage plows, comes the ultimate series of hydrostatic wheel trenchers.
Combining on-board high power, low ground pressure and light weight, the Wolfe variable-speed trenchers are easy to maneuver and operate under all soil and weather conditions.
To help contractors install tiles accurately, efficiently and quickly, Wolfe trenchers include exclusive features that extend your work season, eliminate wearing of parts, and boost profitability.
Features like a pressure-compensated independent hydrostatic drive that lets you vary the track speeds to match the digging conditions precisely, which, in turn, reduces shock and stress.
Automatic grade control keeps you moving at a steady pace on wet, dry, sandy, rocky or clay soils.
And while Wolfe trenchers come loaded with these and other standard features, contractor-specified options like heated and air-conditioned cabs are also available.
Top ground speed, rugged performance, and minimum down time are all standard on Wolfe's ultra-low ground pressure wheel trenchers. You can count on Wolfe, too, for superior craftsmanship, a helpful, rapid-response service team, and a readily available inventory of parts.
Power On Demand
The Wolfe variable-speed wheel trenchers let you make the engine choice - from Caterpillar or Cummins rated for 200, 225 or 250 horsepower (149, 168 or 186 kW). For every prevailing soil condition or tile installation job Wolfe gives you an engine option.
Powered exclusively by low-maintenance hydraulic transmissions - not gears and chains - Wolfe trenchers are supremely mobile. The proven Sundstrand hydrostatic transmission with autotorque limiter comes standard. It drives each track independently with pressure-compensating drives.
The result is infinitely variable speed adjustment on either track for full-power turns during operation - without loss of traction!
Designed For Floatation
From the ground up, Wolfe wheel trenchers are built and designed for superior flotation characteristics that let you work more days each year no matter what the soil conditions.
The flexible tracks are 14' 6" (4.42 m) long but can be easily fitted with 24" or 36" (61 or 91.4cm) pads. The low, wide stance combines with a chassis situated high above ground for excellent weight distribution and high ground clearance.
The carefully balanced weight ensures low ground pressure, with minimum soils compaction and damage in even the boggiest terrain.
Low-Stress Digging & Grading
The fully hydrostatic Wolfe trencher digging wheel is driven by two sturdy radial piston motors mounted on either side of it. Capable of digging trenches as deep as 8 ft. (2.44 m) and from 24" to 48" (61 to 121.9 cm) wide, the digging frame can handle the toughest operating conditions.
Standard features include: protective rear rock guard; rigid, bolt-on rim segments; convenient self-returning, hydraulic bucket and rim cleaners; and durable, heavy-guage rims.
The tilting and pivoting digger mechanism grades from solidly constructed uprights. The mechanism's action makes vertical digging easier while reducing twisting stresses to the frame. The uprights can be tipped forward to raise the wheel and improve the center of gravity during transportation of the trencher.
A time-saving quick-attach shoe post, hydraulic blinder behind the shoe, and set-up for automatic laser-grade control are all standard features too.
Logical-Design Operator's Station
Wolfe trenchers let you really operate! The operator's station is conveniently located well away from the dust and dirt from the digging wheel. The easy access location lets you operate hands-on while directing other work at the site.
An easy-to-read control panel monitors all plow functions and relays information to you in a flash. The controls are straightforward to use and are placed for accessible fingertip operation.
Wolfe's optional, custom-manufactured, front-, side- or rear-entry cabs are available with heating and air conditioning to turn your operator's station into a comfortable command post all year long.
